Nylander has 3 points in Maple Leafs win against Lightning
William Nylander had a goal and two assists for the Toronto Maple Leafs in a 4-3 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena on Tuesday.
Joseph Woll made 46 saves, and Calle Jarnkrok and Ryan O’Reilly each had a goal and an assist for the Maple Leafs (49-21-11), who have won four of their past five games.
Toronto will finish second in the Atlantic Division and host third-place Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, which begins next week.
Mikhail Sergachev had a goal and an assist for the Lightning (45-30-6), who went 0-for-8 on the power play and lost their fourth straight. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 20 saves.
Nylander gave the Maple Leafs a 1-0 lead on a power play at 12:48 of the first period with a wrist shot from the bottom of the right face-off circle.
Alex Killorn tied it 1-1 with a redirection from the slot off a shot by Sergachev at 13:59.
Luke Schenn put Toronto ahead 2-1 at 16:01 with a slap shot from the top of the right circle.
Nick Perbix tied it 2-2 at 5:21 of the second period, scoring on a slap shot from the left circle.
Jarnkrok gave the Maple Leafs a 3-2 lead on a power play at 16:56 when he stuffed in a rebound off a shot from John Tavares.
O’Reilly extended the Maple Leafs lead to 4-2 at 12:33 on a rebound after a shot by Matthew Knies.
Sergachev scored at 13:49 with a one-timer from the high slot for the 4-3 final.
