WILLIAM NYLANDER IN THE ABSENCE OF A CONTRACT IS MISSING AT MEDIA DAY AND TO START TRAINING CAMP FOR THE TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS.
The thing people need to keep in mind with Nylander and the cap figure is it really matters what the term is. An eight-year deal would come with a MUCH higher cap hit than a bridge contract. So the cap figure can't be all we evaluate in the negotiation.

There's a range of what Nylander's cap hit will be, likely between $4-million and $7.5-million. Bridge deal will be closer to the low end and long-term deal will be closer to the high. The compromise here feels like five or six years at somewhere in the $6.5-million-ish range.
