Josh Cooper of the Tennessean: Shea Weber’s agent Jarrett Bousquet said yesterday that the ‘offer sheet’ has been formalized into a contract, and that it doesn’t contain a no-trade or no-movement clause.
Brett Cyrgalis of the NY Post: Lubomir Visnovsky and the NHLPA made their case before an arbitrator on Tuesday, and a decision is expected before Sept. 15th. Arbitrator George Nicrolau will have to decide whether Visnovsky’s no-trade clause was permanently eliminated when he waived it in 2010 to go from the Oilers to the Ducks.
“If he loses, he goes to the Islanders happy,” Sheehy told The Post. “If he wins, he would go back to Anaheim.”

Eric Stephens of the OC Register: Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin said on Tuesday that his right shoulder is doing fine after surgery and he’d be ready for training camp if there isn’t a lockout.
Peter Adler of the Edmonton Journal: Adler said the NHL and the NHLPA’s ‘recess’ is over as of Tuesday morning. Nobody is saying which side made the call to start the talks up.
Liz Mullen (Sports Business Journal) via twitter: Don Fehr on CBA talks, “We haven’t had any discussions since the owners broke it off last week.” NHL Deputy commissioner Bill Daly, “It is obviously becoming increasingly unlikely that NHL Training Camps will start on time.”
Kevin Allen of the USA Today: The NHLPA is expected to hold internal meetings next week ahead of the NHLs lockout deadline. The NHLPA has already sent out a memo to it’s members outlining what they will need in the event of a lockout. Injured players would still receive their paychecks.
“If you are unfit to play because of a hockey-related injury when a lockout begins, you are entitled to receive your salary until you are fit to play,” the memo said. “If you are currently injured, you should make sure that your condition is fully documented and that your club is aware of it. If you do not receive your salary payment when it becomes due, you should contact your agent and/or the NHLPA legal department immediately.”
The memo also notes that players can sign in other leagues, but might run into issues with their NHL team if they are injured.
“We expect that your NHL club would suspend you without pay until you are fit to play,” the NHLPA memo said. “There also is a possibility that the club might take other disciplinary action. The NHLPA may be able to dispute such suspensions and disciplinary actions under the grievance and arbitration procedure.”
Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen: Senators Mika Zibanejad (19) doesn’t no whether he’ll start the year in Ottawa with the Senators or with the AHL’s Binghamton Senators.
“I know I’m staying here (in North America) right now,” said Zibanejad. “I don’t have to go back home. It helps out a little bit. The focus is not on two places right now.”
Zibanejad said his concussion problems are behind him and there are no more issues.
The Fourth Period: Sidney Crosby has been contacted by 2 European/KHL teams about playing overseas if there is a lockout. Logan Couture has been contracted by teams in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) and Switzerland’s National League A (NLA).
Dany Picard of CSNNE: Speculation is that the Bruins are looking to add a top pair defenseman to play with Zdeno Chara, and one of the popular names is Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle. A source close to Yandle said he “would love to play for the Bruins.” To get someone like Yandle, the Bruins may have to offer up David Krejci.
Dave Stubbs via twitter: Stubbs was told yesterday morning that there is nothing new to report regarding contract talks between P.K. Subban and Canadiens.
Chris Botta via twitter: The AHL has a deal with Sportsnet for additional games if there is a lockout. The AHL has talked with NBC Sports and regional sports networks about airing games if there is a lockout.
Ken Warren via twitter: Senators Erik Karlsson says he has a few lockout options, “Russia is one, (but) I don’t know if you want to go there.” The Swedish Elite Leauge is not allowing lockout players.
