Maple Leafs Add Steven Lorentz To Camp Roster On PTO

Steven Lorentz is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He most recently played for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League. The Carolina Hurricanes selected him in the seventh round, 186th overall, at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Lorentz has spent time as both a center and left winger. This may be the Leafs low cost option to adding depth on the left side as Nick Robertson continues to hold out. Lorentz is listed as 6’4″ and 216 lbs.

He was traded to San Jose by Carolina with Eetu Makiniemi and a conditional pick in the 2023 NHL Draft for Brent Burns and Lane Pederson, July 13, 2022. Lorentz was also traded to Florida by San Jose with a 5th-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft for Anthony Duclair, July 1, 2023. Lorentz is coming off of a season where he won the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers.
