Mitch Marner is preparing for a huge 2024-2025 season. He is entering his the last year of his 6 year deal with the Toronto Maple and his future with the team is very much up in the air. Marner needs to establish the kind of player he wants to be and the his worth in the NHL heading into NHL free agency in July of 2025.
Marner is entering the final season of a six-year, $65.41 million deal he signed ahead of the 2019-20 season. Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported in late June that Toronto was preparing to make an offer to the forward, but at this moment, it appears no deal has been made.
Marner had 26 goals and 59 assists in 69 games with the Maple Leafs this season. He missed a month of action late in the season after suffering a high-ankle sprain. The forward was healthy for the playoffs and scored one goal and two assists in seven games against the Boston Bruins in the first round.
