Maple Leafs Sign Forward Ryan Reaves

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has signed forward Ryan Reaves to a three-year contract. The average annual value of the contract is $1.35 million.

Reaves, 36, skated in 12 games with the New York Rangers before being acquired by the Minnesota Wild last season. With the Wild, Reaves recorded 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) in 62 games and skated in six playoff games. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native has recorded 129 points (59 goals, 70 assists) and 1,023 penalty minutes in 828 career games split between St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Vegas, the New York Rangers, and Minnesota.

Reaves was originally selected by St. Louis in the fifth round (156th overall) of the 2005 NHL Draft.
