Tyler Bertuzzi had two goals for the Detroit Red Wings in a 4-2 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Little Caesars Arena on Friday.
Joe Veleno also scored, Dylan Larkin had an assist, and Alex Nedeljkovic made 21 saves for the Red Wings.
Rasmus Sandin scored in his preseason debut, Nicholas Robertson had his fifth assist of the preseason, and Ilya Samsonov made 23 saves for the Maple Leafs.
Nick Abruzzese scored from the right face-off circle to give Toronto a 1-0 lead 1:55 into the first period.
Sandin extended it to 2-0 at 6:05 with a shot from the right point, but Bertuzzi cut it to 2-1 at 17:48 with a wrist shot from the left circle.
Elmer Soderblom tied it 2-2 at 10:32 of the second period when he cut to the front of net and scored on a backhand.
Veleno scored through a screen at 8:13 of the third period to give Detroit a 3-2 lead, and Bertuzzi scored an empty-net goal with 54 seconds remaining for the 4-2 final.
