So with Husso gone and signed in Detroit, Fleury re-upping in Minny, that leaves Kuemper and Campbell still pending UFAs on the goalie carousel.
New Jersey, Toronto, Edmonton and Washington among teams needing or wanting a goalie … of course there’s also the trade route.— Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) July 8, 2022
Joe Sakic let all 32 GMs know he’s ready and willing to move Darcy Kuemper’s rights for a late-round pick. Wouldn’t be shocked if that materializes given the scarcity on the goaltending market.

Corey Pronman – The Athletic – May 31: “He has a good enough stick, he can move pucks into seams and make plays under pressure. He also has a very good wrist shot and can score from the circles. Minten’s skating is OK.”
Chris Peters – Daily Faceoff – June 10th: “He’s good in transition despite not being a particularly strong skater, has a higher-end shot and goal-scoring sense and gets to the middle very well. He’s got a solid frame and good motor to compete.”

Minten says the Leafs showed him video during their meetings. They would show a play and then the screen would go black. They’d ask him what he thought would happen next before showing the result. He felt it helped him display his hockey sense.

NHL Potential
Moldenhauer’s potential will be determined by his continued improvement in overall consistency everywhere on the ice. His skating and puck skills are good enough to get to the NHL. He can make an impact if he continues to make strides in moments when he doesn’t have the puck.

#Leafs Nick Moldenhauer has big breakout potential IMO. He lost 15 lbs from an illness that caused him to miss training camp, suffered a skate laceration on his jaw on his first shift of the year that required emergency surgery, and he still scored over a PPG in the USHL pic.twitter.com/sstqwJE1fJ

The newest member of Leafs Nation: Dennis Hildeby #NHLDraft | #LeafsForever pic.twitter.com/XMQw5G53hT
— Toronto Maple Leafs (@MapleLeafs) July 8, 2022
#Leafs G Dennis Hildeby is a couple of months older than Artur Akhtyamov for context. Exciting stats in a minimal sample this year. He's signed through 2023/24 with Färjestad BK in Sweden, which means he cannot come over to the AHL until that deal is up.

#Leafs take LW Nikita Grebyonkin with the 135th overall pick. Overage Russian who had elite playmaking results in the junior league, a high shot rate that imply more goal upside, and was superb two-way. Don't really know until he plays pro though, listed at 6'2 pic.twitter.com/R889pTEmlp

With our final pick, we select Brandon Lisowsky.
