The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed center Jason Spezza and goalie Aaron Dell on waivers. In the wake of Nick Robertson’s injury from last nights game with the Ottawa Senators the Maple Leafs are forced to make some roster moves to keep their cap flexibility.

Nick Robertson will be getting an MRI on his knee and the full extent of his injury is not yet know, but the Leafs do have options with an emergency callup or placing Robertson on LTIR.

Keefe on Robertson: "Going to miss some time." Don't know extent. MRI likely tomorrow. #Leafs

As a result: Toronto won't be forced to play short a skater because of Robertson's knee injury and it doesn't need to waive No. 3 goalie Aaron Dell, either.

It looks like the Leafs will be changing up the fourth probably giving promising young players a chance to play in Adam Brooks, Joey Anderson, and/or Travis Boyd. Although Jason Spezza has mentioned that he would retire from hockey if he was to be claimed on waivers.
