The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today the hockey club’s 2019 training camp roster. The Maple Leafs have invited 75 players to training camp, including 43 forwards, 24 defencemen and eight goaltenders.
The Maple Leafs will open training camp at the Ford Performance Centre (formerly the MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence) in Etobicoke on Thursday, September 12. Player media availability will begin at 8:30 a.m., while the club will hold a 9:30 a.m. press conference with General Manager Kyle Dubas and Head Coach Mike Babcock in the D.K. (Doc) Seaman Hockey Resource Centre before travelling to St. John’s in the afternoon.
The team’s first on-ice activities of training camp commence on Friday, September 13 at the Paradise Double Ice Complex in Paradise, Newfoundland. On-ice sessions will run from approximately 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Events inside the Paradise Double Ice Complex on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, will be ticketed and fans wishing to gain entry will require a paper ticket. All tickets are free and will be made available on each day of Training Camp, at a first-come, first-served basis, in the morning starting at 8 a.m. right outside the Paradise Double Ice Complex main entrance. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as there is a limited amount of tickets each day. Monetary donations are encouraged and being collected at all events throughout the weekend with proceeds benefitting the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation and the healthcare of NL children.
The Maple Leafs will open their preseason schedule in St. John’s when they take on the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday, September 17 at Mile One Centre. Scotiabank Arena will host its first preseason game of 2019 when the Maple Leafs play the Buffalo Sabres on Friday, September 20.
