Sean Couturier scored the go-ahead goal with 2:55 remaining in the third period, and the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 at Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday for their fourth straight victory.
Couturier started the play by winning a face-off in the Flyers zone after an icing call, then out-raced forward Connor Brown through the middle of the ice to get to a diagonal pass from linemate Claude Giroux in the Maple Leafs zone. He settled it and shot past goaltender Frederik Andersen’s glove form the left face-off circle to put the Flyers ahead 3-2.
