With a 3-2 victory this afternoon over the Utica Comets, AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, the Toronto Marlies have clinched their third consecutive Sam Pollock Trophy as North Division champions. The Marlies become just the sixth team in AHL history to win three straight division titles.
The Marlies currently sit third in the AHLs Western Conference with 90 points and own a record of 42-22-2-4. Over their past 10 games the Marlies have posted a record of 6-3-0-1. With just six games remaining on their schedule, Toronto trails the Texas Stars, AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars, by seven points for first place overall in the Conference.
