This will be the calculation if William Nylander signs on December 1st.
It looks like Nylanders group of representatives have come down in their ask. The Maple Leafs and Nylanders group finally seem to be in the 6’s in terms of the millions of dollars that Nylander will get compensated.
I’m hearing that 6.9 mill a year gets @wmnylander in a @MapleLeafs uniform before December 1st deadline !! My insider will remain anonymous!! Goodnight Ladies & Gents...

Thanks but it means nothing if the leafs don’t match and give term!!!

Based on what Marc Savard has tweeted is seems as though Nylanders group has come in with a $6.9 million number and the Leafs need to match that or agree and provide term on the deal. Maple Leafs would most certainly be looking for a 7 or 8 year term on a number like that.
This weekend coming up to me seems like a make or break weekend in terms of the dicsussions and negotiations that are on-going with the Toronto Maple Leafs and William Nylanders agent/representatives. Very curious that a number got leaked on the Friday before the weekend starts.
Based on the calculations on Nylanders new contract according to the NHL CBA Nylanders cap hit will be very unique.
Year one of his contract will see the Leafs being hit with a cap hit of $9,647,581. From years 2 on Nylander will have an AAV of $6,587,327.

Maybe I was a bit too fast... had a breaking-news-message on my computer but can't verify it at this point yet. Sorry for not waiting for confirmation... I was probably too excited but still I think it will 95% come true.

I officially apologize for telling that Nylander signed. Obviously they agreed on the salary but not (yet) on the length of the contract, still some work to do. #MyBad #Sorry
