The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has signed forward Matt Martin to a four-year contract.
Martin, 27, has collected 88 points (42 goals, 46 assists) and 680 penalty minutes in 438 career regular season games with the New York Islanders while leading the league in hits in each of the last five seasons. In 2015-16, Martin registered 19 points and 119 penalty minutes in 80 regular season games.
The Windsor, Ontario native was originally selected by the Islanders in the fifth round (148th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
