Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Andreas Johnson was named the Swedish Hockey League Rookie of the Year after recording 24 points (15 goals) in 44 games for Frolunda. He ended the season fifth in team scoring.
The other nominees were two teammates Alexander Wennberg and fellow Leafs prospect Tom Nilsson and also Kevin Fiala from HV71.
Johnson was selected by the Leafs in the seventh round, 202nd overall during the 2013 NHL Draft. During the recent World Junior Championship, Johnson had six points (three goals, three assists) in seven games.
